
There has been a debate raging for a few years now about the size of our children and how best we can combat obesity but now inanimate objects have joined the furore.
The mannequins in Topshop have been the focus of national attention since student Becky Hopper’s photo of her size 10 frame up against the size 6 mannequins in the clothes shop highlighted how today’s fashions are being marketed.

Topshop feels that despite the backlash towards its use of such skinny mannequins to model their clothes there is no need to apologise for their use.
