Victory! Victoria’s Secret appears to change controversial ‘perfect body’ ad campaign after customer backlash

US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret appears to have changed its controversial ‘Perfect Body’ slogan after a petition against the ‘irresponsible’ marketing campaign reached over 28,000 signatures.

The change.org petition was launched last week by three students from Leeds after Victoria’s Secret chose to promote its new ‘Body’ bras with ads featuring the words “The Perfect ‘Body’” scrawled across a shot of three slim models.

Frances Black, Gabriella Kountourides and Laura Ferris called the message ‘irresponsible’ and said it ‘fails to celebrate the amazing diversity of women’s bodies by choosing to call only one body type “perfect”‘.
