There may be discontent and even protests against Kate and William’s tour of the Caribbean, but that hasn’t stopped the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge from continuing onwards.
And along their journey, Kate continues to wear things. As one does.
So, what did she wear for a state dinner in Jamaica last night?
While Prince William donned classic black tie, Kate Middleton went for a combination of one of her favourite colours and designers, in a deep green Jenny Packham dress.
You’ll have spotted Kate in this shade before – she’s a big fan of green coats and gowns, and not just for St Patrick’s Day. Kate Middleton even attracted glowing headlines for rewearing a green, sparkly Jenny Packham dress for the Royal Variety Performance last year.
Let us be clear, however. While this is indeed a sparkly and green dress designed by Jenny Packham, it is a very different item of clothing to the sparkly and green dress designed by Jenny Packham Kate wore last year.

This one is strapless, with a ruffled bardot neckline (scandalous), with subtle boning around the waist and a smattering of sequins around the bodice and skirt.
The Duchess accessorised with an updo, plus some rather fancy jewellery.
Spot those earrings and the matching bracelet? Those actually belong to The Queen, who lent the pieces to Kate for the evening.

This makes a lot of sense when you consider that the dinner was to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – even if Liz can’t be there herself, at least her jewels can make a showing.
Other details you’ll have spotted include the Royal Family Order brooch – that’s the yellow bow pinned near the top of the dress – and Kate’s Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star, at the waist.

Alas, if you want to recreate Kate’s look, you won’t be able to get any exact copies – the Jenny Packham gown isn’t on the designer’s website, and we suspect it’s custom, and only royals get to borrow their jewels from her Royal Highness. Sorry gang.
What you can do, however, is nab Kate’s style by swapping your go-to black dress for something emerald.
The Duke and Duchess seem to have enjoyed their tour, writing on Instagram: ‘Already in our short time here in Jamaica, Catherine and I are delighted to have felt what Bob Marley described so many years ago – the spirit of “One love” that Jamaica has given to the world and which makes this country so special.

‘As we heard for ourselves at the cradle of reggae music last night in Trench Town, when the Rasta drums start playing, you really do know how to have a good time.
‘Here in Kingston today we’ve met students and staff at Shortwood Teachers’ College, striving to give children a strong foundation for life;
‘Doctors and nurses in Spanish Town Hospital working selflessly to care for the sick and vulnerable despite the challenges of the pandemic;
‘And the Jamaican Defence Force working hand in glove with local communities in Flankers to prepare young people for employment and adult life.
‘We deeply admire their dedication and commitment.
‘Catherine and I only wish we had more time to spend with you all in Jamaica.’
