We’re not entirely sure how to feel about this.

Shopping centres across the UK are trialing mirror-free changing rooms in an effort to help customers – women, specifically, feel more body confident. They’re hoping this will lead customers to buy more clothes.

Today Hammerson shopping centres in Birmingham, Bristol, and Croydon covered up their mirrors in an attempt to ‘make the nation less body conscious’.

A representative from Hammerson explained that they launched the initiative after learning that 71% of British women don’t feel confident buying a new outfit after they’ve tried it on and looked in the changing room mirror.
