You might not have heard of Tracey Africa Norman – which is a massive shame that deserves to be rectified.
Tracey is one of the first transgender models to find success in the fashion industry, having worked as the face of Clairol and appeared in the pages of Vogue Italia in the 70s and 80s.
Sadly, her career was cut short when the industry discovered she was transgender. Her agency stopped finding work for Tracey, and she never gained the fame she deserved.
Now, finally, she’s getting some recognition.
