Jamie Brewer will make fashion history when she becomes the first Down’s Syndrome model to walk at New York Fashion Week later today.
The American Horror Story actress makes her catwalk debut for designer Carrie Hammer, one of the first shows on the busy fashion week schedule.
Jamie, who is also a spokesperson for people living with the condition, can’t wait to start breaking down more barriers.
She told Today: ‘Young girls and even young women…[see me] and say “hey, if she can do it so can I”‘, adding ‘It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are.’
